To save or not to save is the question we all ask ourselves when we put ourselves in the shoes of a first aide/responder.
With renewal in site, I complied to update the version of outdoor Rec First Aid Qualification as it was a must and a need to do.
Having worked in the outdoors and now learning in the outdoors, having to save someone's life may creep under your feet one day so having a bit of knowledge around this is always useful to have.
Being autistic and having a lot of medical conditions in my life, first aid wasn't exactly new to me and it never will be as some scenarios that we did, I have to do in real life sometimes
#allegic to absolute everything
#seizure disorder
#pre diabetic
#asthma
You name it I probably have had it somewhere in my life of medical conditions
I know these are serious and can be fatal but I choose to laugh it off when people ask me about it all as it's a mechanism of coping I have to not think of how much support I need at the age of 25.
Anyways getting off topic is my worst thing i have in some cases back to the saving lives we must go
Scenarios after scenarios updating the way we treat and help someone was fun to learn and having learnt new things on top of old things is always a useful knowledge to have.
Power points with different conditions and learning the different anograms was experimenting and intreging at the same time
#sample - signs&symptoms, allergies, medications, past history, last oral intake event history
#RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation
#BBBB - Breathing, Bleeding, Burns, Breaks
#PPPP - Preserve Life, Promote Recovery, Prevent Worsening Condition/Illness, Pass It On.
Having the memory to remember all these can be hard for one person however, somehow I remember it all, however I do shorten things down to help brain understand the medical side and being autistic it helps a little to.
So the way I have came up with dealing with possible breaks or bleeds is a simple term called (Wrap it, Strap It and Pack It)
#wrap the injury
#strap the injury
#pack them on there way.
Having the amount if knowledge I have around first aid was fantastic for people to watch on how I do things as a disabled person living with these conditions and disability.
Having a look though the scenrios that were ran over the past 2days it just goes to show what kinda situations that we can come across when were either
#paddling
#mountaneering
#canoeing
#climbing
We could even just be walking down the street when you come across a member of public needing your medical assistance
Books are always useful to have as did this one come in handy as it brought new scenarios and scenes into my brain and knowledge of thoughts
Autism doesn't stop me what I want to do in my life and neither with my medical conditions/disability
I may need help but I can still achieve what I want to do and a saying my Grandfather always taught me was
To achieve, you must believe and if you believe you can achieve and I still go by that saying every day
So it just goes to show no matter what kinda person you are, you can discover a new world into life as I have discovered mine in the outdoors and perusing that dream from the memory of my Grandfather and taking his footsteps into reality with always be apart of me
Onto the next adventure as the summer creeps up slowly and I enjoy the wanderlust worlds of the UK ........ Keep following and stay safe in the outdoors

Into the wilderness of Lancaster Canal
As a paddler this award was going to tick off a few things I am good at and things I still need to work on or improve.
Having a look at the different paddle moves and techniques people where using in the different vessels provided - canoe, kayak, sit on top you name it we had it on that water.
Travelling down the canal at full speed avoiding Fishermen and barge boats was a challenge on it's own all together
The more practice I got, the more comfortable i felt in the craft ....
A selfie was always on the way through this blog, I dont look like I'm showing any emotion, but I am it was just blinking freezing at that point.
With my hands on the verge of hypothermia I needed to get movement into my body before I got too cold for my system to set of something a little bit bigger than being cold
#sufferthecold
#suffertheseizure
Luckily I was cold but warm enough to keep me going throughout the day.
Watching us go back and forth and having edging involved was a sense of balance as the temperature dropped so did my brain.
I got on with the day and carried on learning something new every time, I may not paddle straight but I can turn a boat like no problem

Monday morning had arrived and up and early is nothing new to me as I'm an early rider for my yoga and meditation before I start the day.
A trek down to Valentines House was a imagination of its own as the rural location is always fun to find when it looks like someone's house from the outside
Anyways onto the paddle explore award, a vessel was chosen an something new to me was a fusion sit on top kayak with adjustable knee pads.
Kitted up and ready to slip into the canal paddling down it to a safer area to practice moves and other paddling stuff.

We took a quick break from our brain and started to have a little fun on top of what we had learnt throughout the day and I was glad to be heading back and getting a nice brew down with a cheeky snack to get my sugar levels back to normal
As my adventures keep me going and my medical conditions dont stop me doing what I love to do, the travels and adventures start to take off with me looking into urban exploration over the summer along with alot of travel and paddling in the countryside hopefully
Keep the adventure real and discover a new beginning as you look through your eyes and experience something magical with a twist of wildness in the scene .....................

PYB - WEEK 4 - Canoeing In Style
Here we are again back at Plas Y Brenin making myself comfy and at home .........
As the day grew short and the sun was fading away we managed to grab some lunch and then back onto the rapid river and down to Jim's Bridge again and this time the end would either run smooth or end in disaster so the plan of action was to wing it and take it as it came at us even if it ment possibly ending up in....
The rapids were "Narly" and the water ran smooth and the run went as well as it could of gone without ending up in the water and freezing to death point ..... #watchoutforrocks
The wind chopped away as we paddled towards the banks of the lakes creating waves and laughter along the way, creating this magnificinat vessel was a different adventure all together as it was something new I learnt and something I actually liked about canoing

As the day went on and came to an end Poling in a canoe was a difficult challenge to task ....
Canoeing was the activity of the week and of course in rapids and calm water you have to paddle in style.
The views of Llyn Padarn was fantastic and amazing and Canoing flat water was creative and imaginative to discover what type of paddle skills we could use to take to a rapid
Canoeing in style is always the way and Dan showed us how to do the right way to chill with a canoe whilst having a style on top of that ...... #lookwereyourgoing #rockbeneathyourfeet
Watching the style in how a canoe must work you must ....
1) be yourself
2) be one with the canoe
3) Have deep in thought
4) Don't Fall in
As Alex you can tell he is all 4 and learning how to balance without falling in was fantastic.
#editedphotos much fun when you add a quote to a photo
The views and calmness must come to an end and watching the boys Alex and Jack learn in a different way and style from Simon can be interesting to learn as we all learn different and we all teach different.
There is always time for a selfie and this was the moment thay I took the chance to take a the smile of the week ...
Another day and the Canoing carried on and i took to the rapids with 50mph wind was gonna be a fun day and watching the instructors have a ball in the wind was fun to see ......
The rapids were "Narly" and the water ran smooth and the run went as well as it could of gone without ending up in the water and freezing to death point ..... #watchoutforrocks
End of the day is always good to end with a group photo and that was what was done and said ...
We got back to site and managed to squeeze in some rescues with the tow line and get ourselves a tad bit wet in this 50mph rapid and freezing temperature water ....
The week was over half way through and even though I think canoeing is a boring sport this week brought a different thought to my mind and of course a different smile.
Today was a different view as we created a sail and set course along Llyn Padarn again as the wind speed was setting us back for a bigger adventure.

Geekeness Overload
As the weekend kicked off the time spent walking around discovering the way the world works being a geek and looking at the master pieces of art of the way the film industry works
Being a star wars fan, this photo was the most important thing on my to do list even though it was not the real actors or actresses, it was nice to photo myself with people dressed up in the costumes as being a fan ment star wars would be in my memory of geekeness.
Being at the age of 25 I remember watching toy story and learning a life lesson or two on how the world works, watching people dress up as the characters from toy story meant that the age of the world was slowing down as we revolve around new beginnings of the new generation of films and tv programmes but the youth was still within me
Stranger things were about to happen as the letters lit up and the world became known to the weirdest things around us and onto the space side of things came the darleks to exterminate us and turn the world into dust.
Dr who follows us through generation as the world grows older the doctor changes as we change and discover new worlds into nature, travel and weird adventures that would follow us into space and time just like the doctor .....
As the time ticked by the danceathon was on as boogie storm waltz in and took to the stage .....
Being a fan of Star Wars I may use the force to make my way around Comic Con interfering with the geekeness within the arena and meet the people of the generation and discover the new meaning to life .....
R2 - D2 how could you not love this guy he's small and dinky with a wicked sense of humour and with being a fan you must meet every single person or robot who are part of the force and awaken the next generation to the begining.
As the day came to the end, the geekeness work down and i managed to take the best shot of all and create a memory of discovering the original dilorian of back to the future as the present day follows on with more adventures and travels along the way to discover.
Stay tuned as I take on canoeing in PYB, North Wales and become one with the water ................
