Along The Crags and Into The Walls - Plas Y Brenin - Climbing Week

Well were to start, it was back down to Wales, Capel Curig of course for a week of climbing .....

#There is always time for a quick selfie

A three hour coach journey from Preston to Plas Y Brenin, of course the long dreadful journey I disliked half the time but with excitement running through my body it was nice to be back in a place of freedom and relaxation.

As 11:30am arrived, the meet up and brief up was discussed and into our groups we went to start a magnificent journey of outdoor adventurous activities.

#Can you say no to waking up with a view like this

Climbing, a sport I have always been interested in but never a confident person around it because it's a rope attached to a rock that has been there for years but with fantastic places to go my journey was set to have a cracking week.

I ended up in Fachwen, yes try say that without thinking something totally different, anyways a little crag called Lions Rock were I began the journey of climbing different routes within the crag

Adam teaching us a bit of rope work

Me assessing the rock and ropes
#really taking a nap

The climb begins

Day 2 took us closer to home (plas y brenin) a crag called Willie's in Casey Y Fraith the view from there was ecstatic if only I kept my mind to it but unfortunately the time had come for my brain to set into a seizure which by now I'm used to however I still dislike them, anyways after the recovery side of things I got back onto my feet and set sail for some belaying from above

Sheep apocalypse

Belaying from above making sure I keep hold of the rope and dont drop my friend
#eye sight is important in this industry

A paranormic view of the location of sheep

Mid week had hit and we set out on a journey a bit more far away from land and buildings and into the nature side of valleys #green desert - a place called Carreg Y Foel-Gron were the weather picked up a bit of wind and it was a bit of a chilly day, didnt stop me or the group achieving the goals set for the day

#What a view

Always time for a quick pull tongue shot
#cliff edge
#camera shot too close

A quick photo into a chimney part of the crag holding on not trying to fall off the cliff edge with the drastic wind pulling me out instead of in

#just a bit of weasling (caving)

I took on belaying most of the day as I knew I wasnt going to hang around trying to climb on a nippy day then I discovered a little bit more than belaying well off topic of climbing all together, I went for a little weasling (caving) because it looked fun to do whilst it was cold and keeping myself warm was a priority as the consequences were fatal

#suffer the cold, suffer the seizure

Back into the mini bus and off back to the centre, food was calling my name and my goodness it is definitely worth it than cooking at 5pm after a long drastic day

Day 4 and it was our final full day out we decided to reach out again but this time try a bit of sports climbing, bolts that were already put in and learn how to clip in ourselves, we ended up at a crag called Chrawel Penrhyn Bach, my knees and fingers were killing after it all but it was all worth it having the chance to achieve a goal that has been set for while

It's fine I have the rock in my hand
#i am one with the rock

I'm getting higher
#flexability is the key to the climb

Just a quick thumbs up after getting to the top

More climbing
#never enough just to do one climb

When Dan takes photos of you climbing and you end up with these two on your gallery

The final day was always going to be weather permitted because after looking at the forecast it was gonna be a wet day which was aright as touching the wood we had a sunny, dry and nice week, and that's rare for Wales, the morning took us into The Beacon Indoor Climbing Wall and as I took my skills indoors it just goes to show .......

No matter how many medical conditions you have or how many disabilities that you bring to the table you will always find a way to achieve the goals you set for yourself because as for me that's what I'm doing and even though it's a bit different and difficult most days I wouldn't change it for the world

Keep focusing on your dreams and be the person you want to be and don't let anyone tell you that you cant achieve what you believe

Follow the journey next time were I'm back in Wales November time taking on the water side of things by canoeing with a SMILE.
