Canoeing In Style ... Plas Y Brenin Week

5am start as usual for myself to set the mind into yoga, meditation and positive thinking, the brain naturally becomes of me as I get things sorted for the 3hr long journey down from Preston to the one and only Plas Y Brenin

Canoeing this week and what better way to do it than in style, learning the different manoeuvres that you didnt know existed ......

Anyways going further with this day one consisted of a little bit of SUP work, and yes you would ask this question "in what relation is a SUP a Canoe", your not wrong I was thinking the exact same, however the reason behind the SUP was to show about how I would transfer them paddling skills to a Canoe, sounds complicated but it was a lot of fun, staying local of course on the River Llugwy #didntfallin #naturalsurfer #morebalancethanacanoe

Day 1 flew by and along came day two, off to Balla Lake it was meant to be were we took to the water and I took the skills by also transferring a little navigation trip along the way with maps and compasses, the journey began ......

A photo shows it all as we took Balla Lake to the next level

There is always time for a selfie with these two magnificent people .... #crazy baby bell guy and #choco bear guy

A few paddles through it was time for lunch and of course snacks and a cup of tea and then back over the lake to the finish line, pack up and back to the Brenin

After sitting on my feet all day we had the choose of either paddling along the bank or just tie you boat to you and walk the bank, I made a wise choice to walk the bank

All was fine as we set foot for home and a few obstacles of fences in the way , fence number 1 ... perfectly fine, fence number two Alex must of took a wide baring and I took a shallower one, as the water was getting deeper, boat got stuck, went back released it and then what dont a i see part of the fence underwater ..... straight over and splash

I lasted all day without being in water and I end up in by tripping over a log .... #classic Rebekkah, anyway usual situation, the dancing like a fish out of water #seizure time, after dealing with the normal routine, a little walk I was back kicking them cogs back into place a little tired but it's the way of life .....

Day 3

Location: Plas Y Brenin
Time: 09:00 start
Time officially left the Brenin : 10:45am
Destination: Llyn Padarn

The wonders why it took myself, Dan and Alex to leave Plas Y Brenin an 1hr and 45 later, well let's just put it down to if you were an instructor today was not a good start with trailers playing up, vans not working and then trailer wheel skidding #nottoday

Anyways after faffing about and eventually heading to Llyn Padarn, it was official lunch time, snack time and a cup of tea time and then set the sail up and off we went taking a little friend of ours and his helper Barry the Elf it was time for a little ride

Say hello to our little friend Santa, found on the River Dee back in April #myofficialsanta, he is now my mascot to the famous Plas Y Brenin trips

Stay tuned as when Mountaineering week is on target he is coming up the hills with us

No seriously he was the captain of the vessel and yes we took Santa Claus and Barry the Elf Sailing

With the sail set and Santa Strapped in the Outdoor Christmas Crew were ready for the rapid windy waves #you can do it if you try

You cannot say no to this view of the sneak peak of the Snowdonia Mountain sticking out through the clouds ....

After Sailing the ridge of Llyn Padarn, boats were tyed up and a little 20 min walk back to the van to collect the trailer had set forward but as for myself being obsessive with Urban Exploration at the moment, this little tunnel of spooky ness came along our journey

And so did this bridge .......

Day 4 and it was time to take on a little Tandem Canoeing down the Meni Straits with the group, and we brought Jason our lecturer for a little paddle along the way

With the morning running smoothly it was time to give the group a queens wave as myself, Dan, Jason and Alex set sail for a different little journey of our own .....

After bringing all the snacks out and creating a system in the works I canoed with Jason for a bit to not only test his skills out but also to throw mine into the adventure too, then it was time for a bit of

 URBAN EXPLORATION

We took to the abandonment of a castle, slate quarry and a waterfall was thrown in the mix

The principals behind Urban Exploration is

. EXPLORATION
. PRESERVATION
. DOCUMATION

it was nice to explore the remains of Dolbadarn Castle which was interesting how the structure was made from slate

Photos show it all how amazing this building was

How fascinating does this look, the history behind it all is a good way to learn how the past lived before us ...

Onto Vivian Quarry and then onto the waterfall, which again photos show it all in the journey that we took

WOW, you cannot better photos than this and again the history behind how we are living the lives of those who lived before us is fascinating

Its 4 days in and I had 1 day left which as a short day I decided to feel for some rescues in the pool and then a bit of filming on the Hills to finish off a weird but interesting week

Till the next adventure keep following the dreams you desire and take on the adventure you want

Canoe or Kayak .... Paddle Explore Day

The day always consists of an early morning yoga session 5am start 20 minutes of yoga, 10 mins of meditation, a good start to a productive day

After having a healthy breakfast and making sure I had the snacks packed especially with Dan and the baby bell craze it was time to chose a craft and justify why it was being used today, #just normal outdoor stuff

After choosing the boat for the day and packing the essentials (snacks, tea and water/juice) it was time to set sail along the mucky and icky canal water to a open section which was our training point

Bit by bit it was slowly injesting in my brain as I adapted more to the kayak and was better with the moves than last year #practice makes perfect

A bit of lunch came next and so did this strange man as we go locked out of the building so Simon had to improvise but I thought this was the photo of the day...

After devouring lunch it was back to the water for a bit more paddling everything was hunky dory until my brain went into its usual system ..... timeline generated seizure, I was never worried about them any more, I know the time frame so I just wait until it just pops up to go #ohhello.

It's a natural thing since the age of 7 soooooo after the mini series of seizure I was up and walking along the canal with Dan getting them cogs working, and telling him about weird trips I've done, 123 mile cycle, check it out in one of the blogs

Dan " I wonder how many baby bells a person has eaten in a day
Simon " I dont know dan maybe 10

Back to reality and back on the water we finished off with a few more paddle strokes and off home we went ....

The boys did a bit of a challenge with guiding the boat straight without touching the side of the canal #kinda did it

Check it out next week as I take on the adventure of canoing and discover how not to fall in 😂 .... Keep following the adventure of a life time and if you believe you can achieve and if you achieve it you will believe it

Into the lakes .... Navigation Day

Well it's another week off uni, and it's time to box of a few days venturing outside into the wild.

Off to the lakes we must go into a place near Windermere Lake, it was a cold and fairly dry day so layers where a good thing to bring along the journey of fields and more fields, came across a few trees.

With the map course set and the trails off road a little we ventured across muddy and slippy patches but the views were worth the massive trek up to the little summit which I class as top of a hill 😂

Anyways carrying on with the day it wouldn't be a good day if the snacks didnt come out, a little break along the way which of course included a babybell, raisins or a cheese string or two we carried out our journey to reach the top of this summit which was actually interesting along the way as you learn more about nature than you already know.

As Simon was looking for potential kayaking spots, myself and Dan carried on with some navigation skills, however it did feel like we just Simon for a walk into the wild

#turning a kayaker into a mountain guy

As we got closer to the summit we met with our Sheeeepa which was a good turn out as he led us up along the terousous path which was a bit of steep one

#can you spot the Sheeepa , with payments finalised with grass he disappeared into the field and was never to be seen again, thats how these things work now a days in the outdoors

Carrying on after a bite to eat, a little trip to were the Quarry disused place was which was just a giant puddle in the end but a bit of fresh air was nice to bring to this walk

A bit more navigation and view seeing and then we came across the same bridge we crossed earlier which was like daja vu with me, we stopped for a little cuppa tea in a nice little cafe who we saw earlier putting out bunting, theres the catch put out the bunting and get the potential customers

Anyways after a interesting day it was back to the van and an 1hr 45 drive back to Preston, stay with the adventure as I take on the water tommrow and have a little fun in the Kayak for my paddle explore award

Keep filling your dream bubbles and take on a new adventure every day and see how the world works around you and how nature turns the way you work around the world
