Moel Famau

Many times I have been up this place and once again I was walking it, this day was the second time I had been up here since starting my second year in college.

This time we had tutor Mark and his sidekick dog called Floss and of course the team myself, crazy Craig, music mark and the girls of course Fae and Niamh.

It's not a mountain but it definitely felt like one, there are so many different routes going up and down this hill called Moel Famau, it was only 562m high but it felt like 1000m.

The day consisted driving near Loggerheads to park the mini bus and get geared up, OMG they have a park with swings and slides 😂, this is just the kid side of my brain kicking in, anyways we were booted and suited with our rucksacks full of food and spare clothes and other bits and bobs we needed through the day.

The weather was bright and clear and maps were issued to us to guide us round the magnificent hill full of trees, rocks and at the top of it was some kind of castle which had degraded over time.

Map reading is hard as I thought to myself trying to find my way through the nucks and crannys but that was the fun part as well.

Eventually after the hill climbing and the weather changing dramatically we had reached the top of Moel Famau and quickly got down to the mini bus as the winds decided to pick up to approx 20 miles

To the next adventure stay tuned there will be more to follow.
