Mountaineering With A Twist - PYB Week

Let's start from the beginning ..... Monday morning the time is 0600, eyes adjusting to light, morning stretches with of course yoga, meditation and positive thoughts to start a week of Mountaineering with a twist.

We met as one big group, split into two and then I was down to just three of us, well four if you class santa as a person, wait santa is one of us, what was I thinking .......

Anyways I had alot of filming to sort out throughout the week so that was the agenda for the afternoon creating, making and taking santa for a little adventure

A bit of navigation points and a trip into Bryn Egan Forest, with of course a three tupperware snack boxs, it was a pretty narly day

A meeting at 1700 was on the schedule for Monday evening and well we had no clue what it was and neither did i untill Dan walked in with an amazing chocolate cake singing Happy Birthday with everyone joining in ...

YES! They surprised me with a cake and I had never gone so red in my life with embarrassment but also a little overwhelmed.

A nice selfie of course to finish our first day of filming and off for a cup of tea and some cake

Day 2 had arrived an it already feels like the week is gonna run through like road runner from loony toons but it can also drag too as we headed to Aber Falls for some more filming and just a good navigation day out

When it takes three different positions to carry a 3ft Santa upto the waterfall and also act like nothing is happening

Quick pitstop for snacks, lunch and some planning and possibly a little nap along the way somehow

When it takes six attempts to take a nice photo after a long day of filming but who would change it, because I know I wouldn't

Well we made it to the top, and after a long day of creating some weird but wonderful footage it was time to head home and get some cake and a cup of tea.

Midweek is already hear as I headed up to Ogwen Valley Cwm Idwal to set out for another filming day, WOW the views were amazing and so where these fine creatures of man kind

And YES I did get a selfie with one of them ...

I recon that's the best photo of both myself and Jeffrey the small horse.

Anyways carrying on with the day after getting harassed for around 30 minutes by miniature horses it was time to do some more filming

Yes that is correct "Santa" is in every scene of my introduction to Hill Walking .....

Onto a lunch and snack break and finally back to the van, myself, Dan and Alex set out to Llanberis heading up near the Snowdonia Slate Trail for a little walk before back to base for tea and cake

Yes the day got even weirder when we ventured across not a small gnome garden .... noooo a garden full of gnomes, weird statues and bizarre features along this path

Day 4 is here and I'm nearing the end of my filming and already my film editor is playing up so one must become one with the computer and create the path of unknowness to the technology world of its findings and create a piece of video art.

With a but more filming done and final touches of first aid and confidence roping added on it was just left for my summery and Q&A section to filler it out and then the hard work begins with it putting it all together as one big "Introduction To Hill Walking"

Onto the day itself, Bethesda was the area we were hitting today with a nice river walk and into a wildness of forest with a this here those there cabin up some feisty narley routes which if you follow the squish path, go round the squishy rock, over that and this squishy bit you would see this mysterious cabin way back up and far into the woods that used to be there but now isnt, "a cabin in the woods, hold the cabin"

It was all good until I slipped and hit a sharp pointy mountain rock shape hidden underneath the squishy surface and put a little puncture hole in my hand OWww

With the cabin in the woods hold the cabin all dusted off for the morning, we headed back through the gorgy, river rock walk and straight into the mini bus putting on our Winter Mountaineering Staff Room Fleeces and heading for not one but 2 cups of tea in 2 different places in the space of 20 mins, WOW tea'd out indeed

We found a little but very long cave, goodness knows how long it goes on for we walked about 10 minutes into it and it still had a long distance to go, however we turned back due to deep water the further we went in it.

And yes there is always time for a cheeky little selfie ......

And a bit of another weird and wacky day ...

Onto Friday and we only have 2 more types of practical sessions before it's all over, dont know what I'd do without my trips to Plas Y Brenin, but I will be always up there constantly and more than likelihood work there 😂

Into another adventure and among them hills these boulders and those very mountains stay out into nature with a comfortabala surrounding and some gripple shoes, create memories and undertake a new adventure in the wilderness of the unknown.

I think I may have to sign this cottage next time 😂
